The groove on this chart is a nod to modern drummer Ahmir ". uestlove" Thompson. It is a neo-soul swinging hip hop groove that transitions nicely into the straight ahead swing sections. Harmonically, the head and solo changes float between D-minor and B-minor sonorities. Solos are for trumpet 4 and guitar. A "horns alone" interlude separates the two solo sections.
