I wrote Silent Durations XI for Marcia Hadjimarkos, an amazing performer equally at home on the fortepiano, clavichord and even the modern piano. The subtitle âNight Shadesâ makes reference to the overall nocturnal mood throughout the piece. And I did write it during the evening hours. Silent Durations XI was written for the clavichord. a Bodechtel copy by Christopher Clarke. but could also be played on other keyboards.
