It has an energy similar to that of the Bach invention in F Major, in terms of its continuous motion. It uses an anchoring tone for the rising or falling embellishments in the subject,and has two four-note groups in 1. 8-notes as a countersubject. They move about, trying to avoid tonicizing the root of the parent scale, B. The two themes merge at the finale.
