Reviewed by E. Rohde in the Neue Berliner Musikzeitung, Volume 21, 10 April 1867, page 114 (publication, not performance.) Reviewer found the middle movements the best things (high point, Höhepunkte des Ganzen Werkes). (There is also a 2nd piano sonata, Op.15 (pub.1869) which William Newman mentions in The Sonata Since Beethoven (along with the Violin Sonata Op.14.)
